Research Tips For Term Papers

  • Start your research the day you pick your topic.
  • Keep track of all works that you have consulted.   This means that the first step in consulting a book or document should be a bibliographic entry on a notecard, or a single piece of paper dedicated to this task and placed in your notebook in a place where you can find it.
  • Write your notes from your source on separate notecards so that later you can separate and organize them in different ways.
  • Start writing the final draft of your paper at least 10 days before the due date so that you have time to edit.
  • Read your paper outloud so you can listen to your grammar and language.
  • Don't wait until the last weekend before the due date to begin serious work.
