Quarterback John Howe ’07 led the charge as the Wolverines earned their second straight victory, 38-14, last Friday night against La Cañada, the second-ranked team in the CIF Southern Section’s Mid-Valley Division. The previous week, the Wolverines defeated 15th ranked Carson 31-30 at the Home Depot Center.

The girls’ volleyball team’s start to its season, highlighted by a second place finish in the Dave Mohs tournament, has brought the team to a second place ranking in CIF Division I-A. The Wolverines are one of the top contenders to win a Division I title, which would be only the third Division I team title in school history.

As part of a U.S. tour, Australia’s Methodist Ladies College came to play the Wolverine field hockey team Sept. 22. The Wolverines defeated MLC 5-0 thanks to strong goalkeeping by Rachel Horwitz ’07.

The girls’ varsity golf team’s only obstacles going into the Mission League team tournament on Oct. 24 are Chaminade next Tuesday and Notre Dame on Oct. 19. The team has a 7-1 record.

After starting the year winning nine of its first 11 games, the varsity girls’ field hockey team is in the midst of a difficult stretch in their schedule, going 1-3-1 in the last five games.

After depth and injury problems cost the boys’ varsity cross country team its season last year, the team is counting on a youth movement to carry the team to a better performance than its fifth place mark in the 2005 Mission League Finals.
