Intramural sports are a key component of student life at almost every college campus in the country and the majority of high schools, yet Harvard-Westlake has no extracurricular intramural sports program to speak of.

There is a dark side to the slideshow that is shown to applicants on Family Visiting Days. Looking through all the pictures and seeing all the smiling faces of Harvard-Westlake students, we were informed that here there is a wide array of teams, activities, and organizations, the likes of which aren’t offered at any other high school.

The Prefect Council moved some of its open meetings from third period on Fridays to Monday activities period, and with all the griping about the mysterious student government, it is time for the gripers to take action by partaking in the open meetings.

In a community based on honor and trust, it should seem obvious that calling another student derogatory slurs that insinuate homosexuality is both inappropriate and disrespectful, whether in the quad or on Facebook. However, such actions persist.
