Seniors vote to fund financial aid

Seniors voted today to give the senior class gift to the Alumni Scholar Endowment Fund, Eli Goldsmith, the assistant director of alumni relations, wrote in an e-mail to seniors this afternoon. The fund assists students with financial aid.

The vote was overwhelmingly for the financial aid option, with 103 votes, Goldsmith wrote.

Goldsmith wrote that 84 students voted for the Senior Tribute Award, which grants money to six teachers chosen by the senior class. Thirty-one votes were cast for a donation to the Michael Brownstein '99 Memorial Fellowship, which will fund a gap year for one graduating senior. Nineteen students voted to endow an athletic spirit fund to increase school spirit and support players and fans.

Seniors will donate money to the senior class gift later in the year.
