In their final shows of the year at 5 and 7 p.m. Friday May 16, the Upper School improvisation group the Scene Monkeys departed from the improv games they normally play in favor of longer, more in-depth elaborations on audience suggestions for stories, known as long-form improve.

Exhibition displays junior’s diversity photographs

Alex Fullman ’09 exhibited his photographs at the GAM Arts Center on May 17 as part of a project entitled “Boulevard Without Borders.” The showing was a result of his participation in an eight-month collaboration between three artists and 16 students selected from ten Los Angeles high schools.

62 students receive awards from National Latin Association

Upper school Latin students earned top honors in the National Latin Examination.
25 top scorers were awarded gold medals with Summa Cum Laude certificates.
17 second place winners were awarded silver medals with Maxima Cum Laude certificates.

Rocketry team 13th in nationals

The rocketry team placed 13th last weekend at the national finals of the Team America Rocketry Challenge in The Plains, Va. Harvard-Westlake was one of 100 teams from across the country to compete.
