Nik Turley signs with the Yankees

Wolverine pitcher Nik Turley '08 signed a professional contract July 30 with the New York Yankees.  Turley  received a six figure signing bonus, $60,000 for his college education, and the possibility of advancement bonuses, according to Head Coach Matt LaCour.

Turley plans to attend Brigham Young University during the off season.

The Yankees drafted Turley in the 50th  (and last) round in June  and told him they would track him through the summer, LaCour said, and made the offer in late July.
